D. Scott Covington, MD, FACS, CHWS, is the Principal Clinical Investigator and Chief Medical Officer for CureQuest Clinical. We offer Clinical Trials to stop pain, especially in the legs and feet resulting from, for instance, Restless Legs Syndrome, lower feet or leg pain.

D. Scott Covington, MD, FACS, CHWS
Dr. Covington is a general surgeon with over 30 years of wound care experience. He has lectured throughout the U.S. and internationally on wound care and hyperbaric medicine. Dr. Covington serves as an advisor to both industry and government on wound care-related issues and opportunities. As the prior Chief Medical Officer and Director of Wound Care Education for Healogics, he trained and mentored thousands of physicians and nurses in these clinical disciplines.
Certified by the American Board of Surgery and a fellow in the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Covington completed his undergraduate and medical education at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He trained at the University of Texas (Houston) in General Surgery. In addition, he completed the Thomas G. Cronin Fellowship in Plastic Surgery and Wound Healing Research at the University of Texas. Dr. Covington is a Certified Hyperbaric and Wound Specialist by the American College of Hyperbaric Medicine and a Wound Healing Society member.
Dr. Covington lives and practices wound care in the Jacksonville, Florida area. He enjoys a variety of water sports, guitar and time with his family and friends.
Rebecca Newell, APRN
Rebecca Newell is a Jacksonville native. In May 2002, she graduated magna cum laude from Jacksonville University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. Her early nursing career background was in the Operating room in Urology, Gynecology, General and Open Heart Surgery. From 2006 to the present, she has worked in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum and Newborn Nursery.
Rebecca received her Doctor of Nursing practice degree from the University of North Florida in 2019 and is board certified by the ANCC in Family Practice. In her free time, Rebecca enjoys dancing, lifting weights, being on the water, traveling, and spending time with her family.
